
So, the Santa Lucia festival is coming up on Tuesday, December 13, right after drop-off in the morning. Parents are welcome to stay and observe. This is what you need to know:
Girls: come to school wearing a white dress with a red sash, if possible
Boys: come to school wearing "Assembly Attire" -- light/white top, dark pants
We will need help with making the traditional Santa Lucia Saffron buns, about 200 of them, so... bakers! or anyone who would like to pretend to be a baker, get ready! You will find below 2 recipes. One with the traditional saffron, and one with turmeric, in case you balk at buying the real thing. ($10 for 4 pinches of the stuff at Seaside Market.) I'm on board with making 4 dozen or so -- that leaves 3 more people to do the same. (I think both recipes make about 2 dozen, so if you double, it should be good.)
